I've copied the Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; refs with no name must have content tags from the tech wiki page even though they don't do anything at the moment.

They require an extension to be installed [1] which I think is worth doing. I don't think I can do this until I get ftp access to the wiki folder

the cite extension is turning out to be a major pita. perhaps it's best to rewrite all the notes using Ref/note syntax
