This type of disk images contain only the dumped sector data. There is no header information, so the geometry of the disk should assumed, or determined from the data of filesystem laid on disk image.


There are two schema for sector sequence:

  • “alt”:
    • Side: 0 Track: 0
    • Side: 1 Track: 0
    • Side: 0 Track: 1
    • …
  • “out-out”:
    • Side: 0 Track: 0
    • Side: 0 Track: 1
    • Side: 0 Track: 2
    • ...
    • Side: 1 Track: 0
    • Side: 1 Track: 1
    • …
